“I saw the Cape Town stadium and the Johannesburg one (FNB Stadium/Soccer City) during the world cup. They were beautiful but this is the most beautiful stadium I’ve ever seen”, Clarkson said.

A tweet from Jeremy Clarkson afterhe Top Gear show;

“The Riva Aquarama. The Eagle Speedster. The Humber Bridge. The Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. 4 best looking man made things in the world”.

Chief Operating Officer, Top Gear Festival

“As the SA Daily News stated on Monday 18 June: “Some say…this was fantastic!”

You may have seen many of the emails and letters of praise and thanks for the Top Gear Festival. I can’t remember an event (and I have been involved with a large number!) that has received such adulation.

Frequently when on site, when you’re buried in a problem or an issue, it is difficult to step back and just appreciate what we collectively built and staged. Considering the ambitious scale of the event it is a huge credit to you all, that it was such a mega success.

I hope in the last couple of days you’ve had a chance to reflect on the amazing job you all did and how the team pulled together. I hope you have a deep sense of pride; it was an incredible world class event staged by a fantastic team.

Thank you for all your time, dedication and professionalism.
