On Monday, 28 April 2014, Durban is proud to host one of the highlights of Durban Fun Season, The Tour Durban. What started off as a quest between friends to have a premier cycling race take place in our city, has after 21 years become THE leading cycling event in Durban, with thousands of entrants raising funds for the children of the Domino Foundation.
Classified as a Cape Argus Seeding event, the race features a fast route with full road closures that offers entrants the chance to improve their seeding. It is broken up into 3 routes, a 105 km road cycle, a 45km road cycle and the fairly new but very popular addition of a 55km Cyclocross for Mountain Bikers.
So whether you are young or old, a social or professional rider, or just a cycling fanatic – there is something for everyone. Events all start and finish at Moses Mabhida Stadium so cycling supporters can bring the whole family and enjoy the various facilities on offer as well as the fantastic atmosphere, in perfect Durban weather.
Online registrations are now closed but you still have the opportunity to register at the Suncoast Casino from 10h00 to 17h00 on Friday 25th April and Saturday 26th April 2014.
For more info on the event and details on road closures, visit Tour Durban online.
They have some great competitions going too, so give them a high five on Facebook and Twitter to see what’s going on!
See you there!
