This year, The Umgeni River Bird Park celebrated it’s 30th Anniversary. It’s not everyday that an establishment achieves such a great milestone, and we salute them for their hard work and dedication to the conservation of birds in our city!
Located on what used to be an old quarry site it provided the perfect tropical setting needed to build the park. The site features several natural waterfalls which makes it an idyllic retreat not only for visitors but also for the 800+ birds on the premises.
Recently upgraded and with some special “30th Birthday” tweaks made, it looks better than ever before! But one thing has not changed, and that is the Bird Park’s core value: “Inspire to Conserve”. With add-ons like the Cockatoo Cafe & Tea Garden as well as the famous Free Flight Bird Show it makes for fun family outings and great educational tours.
….And if you like to think out of the birdcage, why not contact them for quotes on hosting birthday parties or corporate functions!
