What a weekend!

The third instalment of Top Gear Festival SA definitely exceeded all our expectations! Thousands of people descended on the stadium to get their annual motoring action fix and to leave their footprints on the world’s most famous live motoring festival.

A host of South African action sport stars and famous personalities such as Jack Parow, Gareth Cliff, Nick de Wit and more joined in on the fun, adding some local flavour and showing the international Top Gear crew that famous Durban spirit.

The atmosphere was electric as world famous drivers and stuntmen performed various jaw-dropping stunts at the Street Circuit and Stadium Show which included a world first buggy-backflip by Masters of Dirt rider Jimmy Blaze and a F1 Lotus bungee jump off a 120 metre high crane with The Stig behind the wheel.

Crowds were mesmerised by pyro performer Naomi Lynch, who bravely put on an incredible fire show with drifting BMW’s.

Jeremy Clarkson, a self-proclaimed Durban fan (see previous press) once again declared his love for our city by saying: “Moses Mabhida Stadium is the best stadium in the world”  and by far his favourite venue to perform their show at.

He also tweeted on Saturday “We’ve hired the prettiest stadium in the world” along with a picture of the #MMStadium arch which got retweeted over 880 times!
