It’s not everyday that history repeats itself, but it seems like the MTN8 Final is an exception to the rule! Like last year, the MTN8 Final is back at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with SuperSport United and Cape Town City FC fighting for the trophy and championship title. Last year SuperSport United took the win on penalties, beating Cape Town City FC by just 2 goals.

According to Premier Soccer League spokesperson, Luxolo September, it only makes sense to bring the final back to Durban’s Playground:
“We had a lot of deliberations with the sponsors MTN and the two clubs Cape Town City And SuperSport United, and it only made sense that we give these teams the opportunity to finish off their business at the same venue.”

Cape Town City FC made it to the final via another penalty shootout battle against Mamelodi Sundowns, while a goal scored by Bradley Grobler against Kaizer Chiefs secured SuperSport United’s spot in the final.
