As part of the Nelson Mandela Challenge, Bafana Bafana took on the Afcon Champions, Nigeria on Wednesday, 14 August 2013 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Before this match, South Africa had faced Nigeria just once in the Nelson Mandela Challenge back in 2004, where Bafana Bafana won 2-1 in Johannesburg. But this time around our boys weren’t so lucky, the Africa Cup of Nations champions gave Bafana Bafana a little lesson when it came to attacking potency and defensive discipline with a clinical 2-0 victory that came courtesy of an Uche Nwofor double. But we’re all but proud of them for doing their best, and going head to head with The Super Eagles. We look forward to supporting the boys in their World Cup qualifier against Botswana on Saturday 7 September.
