The Umlazi Jazz Festival is back again and takes place at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday, 2 November.
The festival is the concept brought to Umlazi by no other than Nje’s Promos & Entertainment. After identifying the need to ‘bring entertainment to the people’ and shine the spotlight on Umlazi and eThekwini as a destination of choice for entertainment and fun, the festival was conceptualised.
Aimed at bringing some of the biggest Jazz talent in the country to the shores of Umlazi and to celebrate the rich diversity of our beloved country, city and township with the music that rocked the shebeens, night spots and music spots. The proud music genre of jazz. Bringing back the heady days when swing and jive dance kept the country strong.
The Jazz Festival will seek to attract thousands of music lovers together and also keep the culture of our old school music going. Relevant DJ’s will be part of the line up to keep the young and old school on their toes.
The festival will also be screening the Rugby World Cup Final between the Springboks and England at 11am, followed by the Telkom Knockout Quarter Final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at 3pm. Tickets are available from Computicket.
