In honour of the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain, Senzo Meyiwa, SAFA confirmed the move of the 2015 African Nations Cup Qualifier to Moses Mabhida Stadium last week. The game was moved to pay tribute to Senzo in his hometown.
“We now urge the fans to come in numbers to make this a memorable farewell to our beloved hero whose wonderful performance put South Africa in an advantageous position to qualify for Morocco. Go out and get your tickets to be part of the festivities in honour of Senzo,” said SAFA president Danny Jordaan.
Head coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba has announced a 26-man Bafana Bafana squad for the final two ORANGE Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2015 qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria.
In memory of Senzo, the players will wear black armbands in their clash against Sudan.
