Soccer fans in Durban have reason to celebrate as the draw for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in the city. S’bu Sithole, eThekwini manager, said he had received verbal confirmation that Durban would receive National Treasury funding to host the draw and the tournament. Fifteen teams will be vying for the coveted trophy in the tournament, which is to run from 19 January 19 to 10 February 2013.
Durban has also been confirmed as the base camp for Bafana Bafana for the duration of the tournament. “So as long as they are here there will be lots of vibe,” Sithole said.
